To hear the word hacker today, is just as likely to arouse a sense of moral panic in the populace just as it did during the inception of the Internet. In the 1980s and 90s, the media was starting to define hacker as an “evil little grub who breaks into computers” (Levy, 2014). However, the actual ethics involved in hacking was more about information wanting to be free.
